Mission
Our mission is to take an understanding of the immune system through to the development of novel immunotherapies,
including cell and gene-based approaches, for the kinder and more effective treatment of patients with cancer.
Strategy
Our teams span the full translational spectrum, from discovery scientists uncovering the fundamental mechanisms of immune recognition and virologists understanding how to reprogramme viruses to selectively infect tumours, to clinician-scientists delivering tailored care on the front line.
Together, we are advancing understanding of how the immune system detects and responds to cancer, transforming novel biological insights into innovative therapeutic strategies such as deploying more precisely targeted therapies and evaluating these approaches in clinical studies.
Working in close partnership with global collaborators and with guidance from our patient and public involvement representatives, we accelerate the pathway from discovery science to patient benefit. Our collective focus is on research that meaningfully improves outcomes for people affected by cancer.
