Discovery and translational research
By linking academia and the NHS, the Cardiff Cancer Research Partnership makes it easier to take research from the laboratory into the ward, and in turn use data, samples and experience from NHS treatments to inform the next generation of lab research.
We are:
- Taking research from Cardiff University laboratories into clinical trials at Velindre and Cardiff and Vale’s NHS facilities. Our first translational research trial, ATTEST, is now opening.
- Working with industry to identify opportunities for:
- feeding outputs from clinical trials done at the Cardiff Cancer Research Partnership into translational research at Cardiff University
- developing discovery research from industry, either through translational research at Cardiff University, or clinical trials with the NHS at Cardiff and Vale or Velindre.
- Developing translational research grant funding applications, including with industry partners.
