Senior Research Nurse Manager

Claire is the Senior Research Nurse Manager for the Cardiff Cancer Research Partnership. She provides leadership and research delivery expertise to the clinical team, while working collaboratively across several research teams delivering a portfolio of clinical trials including studies ranging from Early Phase to Late Phase complex studies, Advanced Therapies (Gene and Cell therapies) and vaccines in both solid tumour and haematology patients.

Claire was late to nursing and began her career in Oncology as a chemotherapy nurse at Velindre Cancer Centre in 2009. This led to a secondment opportunity to the Clinical Trials department and she has remained in clinical trials ever since. Claire was an inaugural member of the Early Phase team when the first Early Phase Unit opened in Wales in 2013.

With a commitment to research and a passion to make a difference for patients, she is now on an exciting new journey with the Cardiff Cancer Research Partnership, developing collaborative relationships and building an agile and highly skilled research team to deliver cutting-edge novel cancer treatments.
