Summary of DTR workshop 2 – Translational research and how the CCRP can help you do it

The second CCRP DTR workshop explored how translational research bridges laboratory discoveries and clinical practice, outlining the scientific, regulatory and practical challenges that researchers often navigate to bring new cancer treatments to patients.
Representatives from the Centre for Trials Research, ECMC and WCRC attended the session to present how each organisation can support translational research, highlighting the strong collaborative infrastructure across Wales. The session also introduced Cancer Research UK’s updated Clinical Research Committee schemes, which prioritise integrated clinical trial designs, hypothesis‑driven sample collection and experimental medicine approaches to accelerate progress in cancer research.
We look forward to seeing you at our next workshop on 4 March.
